1.1 Our common future
We believe development is not only morally right, it is in our shared interest.
Furthermore, without education economies will not have the skill they need to innovate, grow and manage their environment. (Building our Common Future, DFID White Paper 2009)
Figure 1, below, shows the three strands of or common future in our approach to development.

I think it is time to say up front that “sharing our knowledge freely on the internet can in time provide lifelong learning for all who can read and write.”
Ruggerdised computers with solar cells and massive hard drives mean libraries of books can be available anywhere and different forms of connection give internet access in addition now.
