Public Consultation Process
The Department for International Development (DFID) has produced a new education strategy in the context of the new challenges facing the world today.

We believe education is both a right, and a route out of poverty – it is an investment in our common future. We also recognise that consulting with a wide range of interested groups helps to ensure that the impact of our proposals on different sectors of society is taken into account.

As such, three public consultation documents examining the direction of our education policy were made available for comment on this website for over 12 weeks from 6 August 2009. The public consultation process closed at midnight on Friday 30 October 2009.

All comments had to be submitted before this deadline to be considered in the drafting of the strategy.
